New ADM Model for TYH Eliminate the Travel mites program as WAHA will be eliminating this program next year. For the first year only, those good enough to make a squirt team and possess the needed skills to move up to a squirt team, will tryout for a squirt team and be placed appropriately. In house program broken down into 4 groups: Introduction to hockey Beginners Intermediates Advanced Each group will have a specific set of skills that will have to be learned and mastered to a certain degree before advancing to the next level. Children will be able to bee moved from to the next level through out the season. Little to no “structured” game play will be involved, (except at the advanced level); instead small area games will be played at the end of each night’s practice. Each practice will consist of up to 6 stations of skill development, with players moving from station to station about every 10min to keep them active and moving. General description of new ADM Groups...

I am pleased to announce that the Robbie Glantz Power Skating Clinic will be returning to the Onalaska Omni Center on October the 7th, 8th and 9th. If you attended this clinic last year you know how valuable of a clinic it was and how much fun the kids had, if you didn't attend last year make sure you get registered for this one. Robbie is one of the best power skating instructors in the country. His resume' includes working with some of the greatest talents in the NHL like Sidney Crosby, along with teams such as the Pittsburgh Penguins, and La Kings. He not only instructs the kids on how to get the most out of each stride down the ice, but makes it fun and enjoyable for them all. I couldn't find one child last year that didn't have a great time. The cost is $90.00 for the 3 days of intense, expert instruction. Times are yet to be determined for each of the 3 days, but it will be the same amount of ice time as last year, (1 ½ per group each day of ice time) Again there will be 2-3 groups depending on the...

As most of you know, the Coulee Region Chill Jr. team will be playing at the Omni Center starting in the fall. The team is looking for host families for their players.  We are contacting the local hockey associations and high school teams to look for host families for this fall.  If you could forward this to your teams and families and anyone else that you might think would be interested that would be great!  We are in desperate need at this point of host families and need the word spread out quickly! The details are: Host from Sept - March (April if they make the playoffs) Host families receive $250 a month from the player & 2 free tickets to each home game You are not responsible for getting them to practice They practice from 12-4 everyday with curfews at around 10pm or 11pm every night You are to provide room and board for them They are gone 50% of the time with their away games This could be a very neat opportunity to get to know a jr. hockey player and also have a great experience for your family....

Presidents Report Ty Earp May 10, 2010

The 2009-2010 TYH Hockey Season was a successful one. It most certainly had its challenges as all youth sports associations do. But overall, I believe we as board members did what was best for the kids of our association this past season. My focus as the TYH President was to carefully consider how policy and suggestions for new policies would affect the kids and our association's goal of offering a hockey program that provides kids the opportunity to learn skills, teach good sportsmanship, and emphasize teamwork.  As I mentioned in my letter to the association last September, I'm amazed at all of the hard work that is required to run a successful hockey association. I would like to thank the entire board for all of their time and attention and would like to extend a special "thank you" to those individuals on the TYH Executive Board (Shelly LaPlount, Mike Gargaro, Karen Kenny, Jeff Waldera). Most members of our association members probably have no idea...
