Fundraising Information

Dear Tornado Youth Hockey Family:

I would like to thank you in advance for supporting our 3rd Annual Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 21^st, from 7:00am to 11:00am at the OmniCenter. I have no doubt that this event will prove to be a success for our fundraising efforts this year.

Every family will receive 10 (numbered) tickets to purchase or sell.  We do understand that some teams may be out of town this weekend however, tickets can still be sold to family and friends. Also, if you would like to sell more tickets there will be more available just let me know.

The price for a ticket to breakfast is only $4.50 but will be $5.50 at the door the day of event.  Children under 5 are free. Breakfast includes, all you can eat pancakes, sausage, fruit, milk, juice and coffee.

You may turn in money for tickets to your Team Managers at practices through Feb 15^th.  You many also drop off the money from selling your tickets anytime in the TYH Locked Mailbox at the Omni Center.  Please be sure to use a sealed envelope with both “Pancake Breakfast” and your family name written on the outside of the envelope.

Past years have allowed TYH families to enjoy a great breakfast, and spend time getting to know each other better.  Our skaters appreciate your help in making this a HUGE success!

A committee has been working on a new fundraiser for 2009-2010, “Tornado Youth Hockey Family Favorite Recipes” Cookbook. The cookbook with be a collection of at least 400 recipes with a personalized hardback cover. In order to have the cookbooks published and ready for sale by December 1, 2009, we need every family to submit recipes (up to 5 per family) no later than October 31st, 2009.

A web site has been set up for you to enter your recipes online.

Please follow these simple steps to enter your recipes:

1. To access the web site go to www.typensave.com
2. A log-in screen will appear. Type in the following information in the boxes.
3. CONTRIBUTOR NAME : Your name or a member of your family’s name you wanted printed with the recipe

GROUP LOG-IN : hockey

PASSWORD: 8wmdd

4. The Add RECIPE screen will appear. The format is straightforward and easy to follow. There are ? buttons to help with the data entry, if necessary. Please use the Check Spelling and Preview Recipe buttons at the bottom of the page.
5. This will assist the committee in proofing the recipes.

PLEASE NOTE: In order for this to be a successful fundraiser, we need every family to submit at least two recipes.
For duplicate or similar recipes, multiple contributors will be noted next to the recipe.

It is that time of year again to look for sponsors to support our young sons and daughters in a game they love, HOCKEY.  If you own a business or work for someone you think would be interested in sponsoring a hockey team, tournament or just supporting us by placing an ad, please give us a call.  Below I have outlined a variety of sponsorship options.  Please contact Shelly LaPlount if you have any questions.

Team Sponsor – the business name will be printed on each player’s jersey.  A display ad will appear in our official tournament program.  This program is provided to everyone who attends our home tournaments.  You will also receive a photo of the team you sponsor. A two-year team sponsorship is $1000.

Tournament Sponsor – businesses will receive an ad in our official tournament program.  The sponsor will be announced during every game during the tournament requesting patronage to show our appreciation for their support of youth sports in our community. A tournament sponsorship is $350.

Ad – you can get a ½ page or full page in our official tournament program.  A ½ page is $75, full page ads are $100.

Internet ad – a banner ad for your company with a hyperlink to your website will appear on the Tornado Youth Hockey web site. $100/season

During the season we host 8 weekends of invitational tournaments, bringing in teams and fans from nearby communities as well as from the upper Midwest and Canada.  These teams stay at area hotels, eat at local restaurants and gas up their vehicles at our gas stations and so on.  We estimate that our tournaments bring in approximately $ 500,000 to the local economy each season.
